"I believe I made the right decision" - Arsenal target explains why he decided against move from current club

Benjamin Sesko, who was linked with a move to Arsenal, has opened up about his decision to stay at RB Leipzig. He reckons staying with the German side will help him develop further rather and give him more experience than just rushing things.

The Gunners are in the market for a striker and were heavily linked with a move for Sesko. However, he ended up signing a new contract with Leipzig, which will expire in 2029. He recently opened up about his decision in an interview with Slovenian outlet Nogomania, saying (via TBR Football):

"I thought it through very well. I believe I made the right decision. I wanted to gain more experience, learn more, and not rush things.
"Leipzig is an excellent club that can provide what I need for the next step. Leipzig’s vision is clear; everything is geared towards growth, progress, and high goals. I felt it was right to decide this way."

Sesko signed the contract before participating in Euro 2024 with Slovenia. However, the rumors linking him to Arsenal were rampant before his decision and the tournament. When asked if they were a distraction, Sesko said:

“I can’t deny such things don’t get into your subconscious, it’s probably quite normal, human. Still, I remained calm despite everything. I got through that turbulent period and approached the Euro fully focused."

Sesko, 21, has scored 18 goals and provided two assists in 42 games for Leipzig since arriving from sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer.

Arsenal star set to join Fulham in a record move: Reports

As per The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is set to join Fulham this summer. The Cottagers will pay a club record fee of £35 million for him.

Smith Rowe came through the Gunners' youth academy and looked promising in the senior side. He scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 33 Premier League games in the 2021-22 season. However, he then had numerous injury issues and just couldn't find his way back into the first team.

Smith Rowe made 19 appearances across competitions last season, providing two assists. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has now decided to let him go and the 23-year-old will hope to find some regular playing time at Fulham.
