"I was buzzing when I saw it" - Bukayo Saka on receiving praise from England legend David Beckham after Euro 2024 QF showing

England star Bukayo Saka has revealed that he was buzzing after receiving praise from David Beckham for his Euro 2024 quarter-final display. The Arsenal winger was exceptional for the Three Lions and was a pivotal part in them securing a place in the last-four after beating Switzerland 5-3 on penalties in Dusseldorf on Saturday (July 6) after a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes..

The Three Lions went behind in the 75th minute, but Saka restored parity five minutes later with a finely struck goal from outside the box. He then stepped up in the ensuing penalty shootout and converted his spot-kick, having completed all his dribbles and two-thirds of his tackles .

Former England international Beckham hailed Saka for his performance, and the Arsenal star revealed that he was excited to be addressed by the 115-capped star:

"I showed him (Shaw) this yesterday, I was buzzing when I saw it. To have that support from Becks... come on man."

Bukayo Saka, who has made 38 caps for England, picked the best time to score his 12th goal for the Three Lions who are looking to win their first European Championship.

The Arsenal star will be keen to keep his purple patch of form going and do something even the revered Beckham didn't manage by winning Euro 2024.

Harry Kane lavishes praise on England star Bukayo Saka after Euro 2024 heroics

England captain Harry Kane has lavished praise on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka following his Man of the Match performance against Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

The winger made the difference in the game for the Three Lions, scoring the equaliser to draw them level and putting on a magnificent display. Speaking about Saka's performance in the game, Kane said (via Fotmob):

"What a performance, the whole game. Playing in a position that he's played before, but that he's not used to playing. He was our real outlet with the ball. He caused them problems all game."
"He got the goal he fully deserved with a fantastic finish, got us back in the game when we needed it most. Then, without the ball as well, the work he put in, the shift he put in. The blocks, the tackles, right up until the 120th minute."

The England captain concluded:

"And then to step up the way he did. I know the mentality he's got, and I knew he'd be comfortable at that situation even though what happened in the past. (It was) aafantastic night for him, and he deserved it."

Gareth Southgate's side will hope to count on Bukayo Saka to deliver a similar performance against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-finals in Dortmund on Wednesday (July 10). They are two wins away from ending a 58-year major trophy drought.
