"I'd love to play alongside him" - Former Barcelona star wants Neymar Jr to join him at Brazilian giants

Former Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay has stated that he wants Neymar Jr. to join him at Brazilian side Corinthians. The Dutch forward also claimed that he has talked to the Al-Hilal star about his desire to play alongside him in the Brazilian top division.

Neymar joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in August 2023 for a reported transfer fee of €90 million. Since then, he has made only seven appearances for the side, bagging one goal and three assists across competitions. He's currently on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

Multiple reports have stated that Al-Hilal are considering terminating Neymar's contract prematurely. His father, however, has claimed that the 32-year-old will remain committed to the club despite his physical issues. Neymar's boyhood club, Santos, are reportedly looking to bring him back.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona forward Memphis Depay has stated that he wants to see the Brazilian attacker play for Corinthians. In September 2024, Depay joined the Brazilian side after his contract ended with Atletico Madrid. After Corinthians' 3-0 victory over Bahia, the Dutchman said (via GOAL):

"What I told him? Ney knows that. That's between us. He's a superstar and still possesses the skills to lead Brazil to World Cup glory. He's an inspiration to many. I know he has ties to Santos, but I'd love to play alongside him at Corinthians. I wish him happiness, wherever he decides to go."

Memphis Depay has made 13 appearances for Corinthians across competitions, bagging six goals and four assists.
