"I hope to be at a big club" - LaLiga midfielder expresses desire to join Barcelona in the future

Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro has expressed his desire to play for Barcelona in the future. The 21-year-old is considered one of the most promising talents in La Liga.

Moleiro is a product of Las Palmas’ academy. He made his first-team debut at the age of 17 and has since become a key member of the Canary Island-based club. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a left midfielder or left winger.

This season, he has featured in all 13 league games for Las Palmas, scoring four times. In a recent interview with Mas Que Pelotas, Moleiro disclosed that he is happy at his current club but looks forward to wearing Barcelona’s colors in the future.

“I am very happy now and I am not thinking about leaving, but I hope to be at a big club like Barça in the future,” he said (via Barca Universal).

Moleiro’s desire to play for Barcelona may stem from witnessing Pedri's success at the club. The Barcelona midfielder is also a graduate of the Las Palmas youth system, having joined La Blaugrana directly from the club in 2020.

Hansi Flick's team currently has a surplus of players in the midfield position, though, which makes it hard to see a transfer for Moleiro in the upcoming windows. However, he could be a valuable addition to the squad in the future.

Moleiro will face his dream club when the two teams lock horns in the league on Saturday, November 30.

Barcelona could have 3 key players back in action after the international break – reports

Barcelona are set to have Robert Lewandowski, Hector Fort, and Eric Garcia back in the team after the ongoing November internationals. The Catalan club will face Celta Vigo in the league in their first game after the break on November 23.

As per Javier Miguel (via Barca Xtra on X), Lewandowski, Fort, and Garcia will be in contention for the clash against Celta Vigo. Lewandowski suffered a back injury in the club’s 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad on November 10. Fort has also been out with a back issue, while Garcia has been sidelined with an adductor injury.

Flick’s side will look to bounce back from the loss to Sociedad after the break and maintain its lead atop the La Liga table. They have 33 points after 13 matches and are six points ahead of rivals Real Madrid in second place with a game in hand.
