"I hope I can sign for them one day" - 22-year-old attacker confirms he will not be joining Barcelona this summer

Hull City attacker Jaden Philogene has confirmed that he will not join Barcelona this summer. This comes after the 22-year-old's agent went viral for posting pictures of himself at the Blaugrana's Ciutat Esportiva training grounds on Instagram.

There were rumors linking the Hull City forward with a move to Barcelona. These rumors were exacerbated by Philogene's agent posting pictures from outside the Catalan giants' offices. He was reportedly asked to leave by security (via TotalBarca).

Now, Philogene has come out to address rumors linking him to Barca. He revealed that he would not join the Catalan giants this summer. However, he did note that it was still his dream to play for Barcelona, telling Que T'hi Jugues (via Fabrizio Romano):

“I chose the Premier League because it is the clearest offer I have, but my dream is still La Liga. Barca is my dream, I hope I can sign for them one day. My idols are Ronaldinho and Neymar.”

Playing for Hull City, he enjoyed an impressive season in the Championship last campaign, making 32 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing six assists.

Joao Felix wishes to return to Barcelona, but may be unable to - Reports

Joao Felix is reportedly eager to return to Barcelona following the expiry of his loan move from Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese forward spent the last season playing at the Catalan club and now wishes to return, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona, too, want to have him back but their financial situation could stop them from making a move for Joao Felix. Romano explained to CaughtOffside:

“Nothing has changed with regard to Joao Felix. Barcelona are still keen on bringing him back, but they need to agree on a deal with Atletico Madrid and that’s not easy or guaranteed yet. Patience is needed, exactly the same as last year, and from the player’s point of view, Joao Felix is currently waiting again for Barcelona.”

In the meantime, though, Joao Felix is part of Portugal's squad at EURO 2024, and he will hope to help them beat France on their way to the semifinal.
