"I hope to spend my entire life in Real Madrid" - Los Blancos-bound Endrick makes honest admission
Palmeiras striker Endrick - who is set to arrive at Real Madrid this summer - wants to spend his entire career with the La Liga giants. The 17-year-old has had a decent start to the 2024 season with his Brasileiro Serie A side ahead of his Los Blancos move.
Endrick has bagged four goals and two assists in 22 games across competitions. Currently with Brazil ahead of their Copa America 2024 campaign, the teenager said (as per Madrid Xtra) about his career goals with Los Blancos:
“I hope to spend my entire life in Real Madrid.”
It's pertinent to note that the reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners snapped up Endrick in December 2022. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira had termed the deal 'the biggest' negotiation in Brazilian football history, as per Sky Sports.
Although Palmeiras didn't reveal much details of the deal, calling it 'confidential', they tweeted (as translated from Portuguese):
"Palmeiras, Real Madrid-ESP and the representatives of striker Endrick reached, this Thursday (15), an agreement for the player's transfer to the Spanish club in July 2024, when he will turn 18. The terms and values of the transaction are confidential."
The five-foot-eight Endrick turns 18 on July 21, following which he will be eligible to join Los Blancos.
What Endrick said on being signed by Real Madrid
Endrick is widely regarded as one of the top young talents in South America. Los Blancos eventually snapped up his services ahead of a bevy of top suitors from across Europe.
After the deal became official, the teenager thanked Palmeiras for helping him 'achieve' his dreams as he reiterated to give his best to the club before he joins Los Blancos.
"I thank Palmeiras, forever the club of my heart, for offering me everything necessary to become what I am today, helping to achieve my dreams and respect my wishes and those of my family," he said as per Sky Sports.
"Until I join Real Madrid, I will continue to dedicate myself as I have always dedicated myself to being able to offer Palmeiras even more on the pitch: more goals, more victories, more titles and even more joy for our fans."
Endrick has also been capped four times by Brazil, scoring twice, both in friendlies.
