"I would love to see him winning the Ballon d’Or" - Frank Leboeuf wants Real Madrid superstar to win prestigious award

Former France defender Frank Leboeuf has claimed that he wants Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal to win the prestigious Ballon d'Or. While discussing Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold's rumored move to the Santiago Bernabeu, the former Chelsea defender insisted it would be a tough choice for the English right-back.

Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos in recent months. The 26-year-old's current deal at Anfield expires next summer and there has been no breakthrough regarding his contract renewal.

Leboeuf has claimed that Alexander-Arnold would have to fend off competition from Dani Carvajal for a place if he moves to Real Madrid. He insisted that he would like Carvajal to win the Ballon d’Or this year for what he has achieved with Los Blancos. The Frenchman told Safest Casino Sites, as quoted by Caught Offside:

"Ancelotti would be the first to say, okay if you come, you’re going to play but we are talking about Carvajal, who won the Champions League, La Liga, and the European Championship. I don’t like the Ballon d’Or, but I would love to see him winning the Ballon d’Or just because he’s a type of right back from our generation."

The former Chelsea defender added:

“So it would be fun, but I think Ancelotti made Carvajal his captain for a reason. He’s a first warrior and he needs a warrior at that position and on top of that he scores goals for Spain and for Real Madrid. So it’s going to be a tough choice for Trent Alexander-Arnold.”

Dani Carvajal came through Real Madrid's youth ranks but made his name during a one-year stint at Bayer Leverkusen. Los Blancos resigned him from the Bundesliga side in 2013 and he has since become a key player for the Spanish giants.

The 32-year-old has made 427 appearances for the LaLiga side so far and has won a total of 26 trophies during his time at the club. He is also capped 51 times for Spain and has won the UEFA European Championship once and UEFA Nations League once.

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson names Alexander-Arnold replacement amid Real Madrid interest

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson reckons Trent Alexander-Arnold will join Real Madrid and believes the Reds have a readymade replacement for the Englishman. The former Reds centre-back has insisted that Conor Bradley has what it takes to replace the Liverpool vice-captain should he leave for Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold's current deal with the Reds expires next summer and he has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid. Mark Lawrenson has claimed that the 26-year-old will join Los Blancos. He said, via SportsCasting:

"I think Trent will go to Real Madrid to go and play with Jude Bellingham, and he’d be allowed to play wherever he wanted in that team. I can see it happening, I really hope it doesn’t though. He’s a well-educated guy and he’ll be thinking about going to Madrid and learning the language, earning good money, what’s there not to like?"

Lawrenson insisted that the Reds already have a replacement lined up for their star full-back in Conor Bradley. He added:

"I wouldn’t say Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah (contracts also expiring) are all irreplaceable. I think Conor Bradley has the makings of an outstanding full-back if Trent were to leave. He’s shown that he’s ready to start more for the first team and already has a number of good displays to point to."

Conor Bradley has made 34 appearances for Liverpool so far having contributed with one goal and seven assists. The Northern Irishman has made six appearances under Arne Slot this campaign.
