"I’m curious about the Premier League" - Serie A star makes transfer claim amid Liverpool interest
Liverpool target Ederson has given an interesting hint about his future. The Atalanta midfielder admitted that he is curious about playing in the English Premier League amid interest from the Reds.
It is no secret that Ederson is attracting a lot of interest. According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are exploring the possibility of snapping up the talented Brazilian this summer, with a host of other clubs also said to be keeping a close eye on him.
In an interview with AS, the midfielder confessed that the Premier League has got his curiosity.
“I don’t know, I’ve thought about it a lot, I like Italy, I’m well adapted, but I’m curious about the Premier League, so I don’t know,” he said. “I’m still growing, so I don’t know if I’ll stay in Italy, I think I still have more to prove. If I go somewhere else, then too. I will continue to grow.”
The Brazilian, however, went on to stress that he remains happy in the Serie A while pointing out that the ball is in Atalanta's court as to whether to accept any offers that come in.
"It always happens when the market opens that all the speculation comes but not only about my future, but also for many players,” he continued. "I am very happy at Atalanta. I just won a great title, I am very well-integrated. My future is something that doesn’t worry me."
“If something comes up about a transfer, the club has to accept it first and that is the most important thing. I have a good relationship with Atalanta, so the moment they come and tell me that they have some kind of offer, that will be when the talks start. At the moment, I am an Atalanta player and I am still an Atalanta player," the midfielder added.
It is worth noting that Ederson had a decent outing in the recently concluded season. He played 53 games for Atalanta across competitions, contributing seven goals and one assist while winning the Europa League in the process.
Who else could Liverpool sign this summer?
In addition to Ederson, Liverpool are expected to go after a couple of players in the transfer market this summer. This could include a few surprises as the Reds now have a new manager in Arne Slot following the departure of Jurgen Klopp.
According to 90Min, Leeds United defender Crysencio Summerville is one of the players the Merseysiders could pursue when the summer transfer window reopens in the coming days. Khephren Thuram and Sporting Lisbon's Goncalo Inacio are other names on their list.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could also witness a couple of departures. Versatile defender Joe Gomez and left winger Luis Diaz are being linked with potential exits. The former is reportedly on Bayern Munich's radar while the latter is being monitored by Barcelona.
