“I'm going to call him" - Naldo Benny says he's going to try and convince Cristiano Ronaldo to join Brazilian club
Singer Naldo Benny has claimed that he would try to convince Al-Nassr attacker Cristiano Ronaldo to join Brazilian side Flamengo.
Benny revealed that he will be traveling to Saudi Arabia soon and will meet Ronaldo in the Middle Eastern country. Benny is friends with the Portuguese superstar.
He further spoke about the desire to convince the player to join Brazilian side Flamengo. Benny said (via Diario Do Fla):
"On Sunday I travel to Arabia, I'm going to meet Cristiano Ronaldo. We met in 2016, back in Madrid. He's my partner. We were in contact and there was this invitation for me to go there. This is the goal (to call him to Flamengo)."
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr as a free agent after leaving Manchester United. He reportedly earns £173 million from the Saudi Arabian club. Whether Flamengo can be such a financially lucrative option is debatable.
Further speaking about Ronaldo, Benny said:
“On Sunday I travel to Arabia, I'm going to meet Cristiano Ronaldo. We met in 2016, back in Madrid. He's my partner. We were in contact and there was this invitation for me to go there. This is the goal (to call him to Flamengo).”
Ronaldo has been in good form for Al-Nassr since making his debut for the Saudi Pro League club in January. He has so far scored 13 goals and provided three assists. Despite Benny's desire, it's highly unlikely that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will join Flamengo.
When will Cristiano Ronaldo return to action?
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr will return to action on May 23 to take on Al-Shabab in a Saudi Pro League home clash. Al-Alamy are currently second in the SPL table, while Al-Shabab are third.
Al-Nassr will enter the contest on the back of a 2-0 win against Al-Tai'ee, where Ronaldo scored the opener for his team from the penalty spot. With a win against Al-Shabab, they can secure a place in next season's AFC Champions League.
Al-Nassr are also looking to give league leaders Al-Ittihad a run for their money in the late stages of the SPL. They trail Nuno Espirito Santo's team by three points at the moment. The Riyadh-based team have 60 points from 27 matches.
