"I'm ready, I'm a winger" - Carlos Alcaraz makes cheeky claim to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as he links up with Los Blancos squad

Tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed a funny moment with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti. In a video posted on X by the club's official handle, the Spaniard can be seen telling the Italian tactician that he is ready to suit up for the team as a winger.

Alcaraz said:

“I’m ready, eh. I’m a winger! (laughs).”

The 21-year-old tennis prodigy was spotted at the club's training ground alongside Los Blancos legend Roberto Carlos, escorting the players ahead of their clash against Sevilla.

Alcaraz also attended the game alongside club president Florentino Perez. Speaking on Real Madrid TV about the game later, he said:

"It was an incredible experience, something I will never forget."
"It was really nice. I had the chance to greet all the players, but I didn't want to disturb them since I understand the importance of being focused before a match."

Ancelotti's side eased to a 4-2 win over Sevilla, taking them to second in the table ahead of Barcelona heading into the break. Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo, and Brahim Diaz ensured that they cut the lead to Atletico Madrid to one point at the top of the table.

Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe admitted that he had hit rock bottom after the side's clash against Athletic Bilbao. After collecting his 10th goal of the La Liga campaign against Sevilla, he said (via Real Madrid TV):

“I know I have a lot more to give. The last few games I’ve played better, I took a lot of positives from the Bilbao game, when I hit rock bottom.”
“I think we now know each other better,” he said. “I’ve joined the team and that changed a lot of things. The settling-in period is over, as the coach says. I feel very comfortable in the team and I play better with the others on the field. The team is playing much better.”

The French superstar missed penalties against Liverpool in the Champions League and Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, earning a lot of criticism for his performances.

However, Mbappe has seemed to hit top form again and now has 13 goals and three assists in 23 games for the side. It has come at the right time as Real Madrid now hold a strong position in the La Liga title race.
