“I put El Chiringuito on and I sleep well” - Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti aims dig at Spanish media house

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has taken a dig at Spanish media house El Chiringuito. The Italian manager and his Los Blancos squad are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, June 1, having already bagged the La Liga title this season.

Ancelotti took charge of the Spanish giants for the second time in 2021, with his first stint at the Bernabeu being from 2013 to 2015. During his overall tenure at Real Madrid, he has led the club to two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and two UEFA Champions League triumphs among other honors.

Ancelotti recently shared his views on El Chiringuito, saying (via Madrid Xtra):

"El Chiringuito? I can watch. Sometimes after a game, I can’t sleep. Then I put El Chiringuito on and I sleep well (laughs)."

Ancelotti has a versatile managerial career, having coached several major clubs, including AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton, across multiple European leagues.

During his managerial spell at AC Milan, the 64-year-old Italian was named the Serie A Coach of the Year twice. He is also the Rossoneri's longest-serving manager in a single spell.

Real Madrid star explains his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior recently spoke about his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, mentioning how the Italian coach has impacted him.

During an interview with UEFA, the 23-year-old Brazilian was asked about his opinion on Ancelotti's influence on him and how the Real Madrid head coach has helped him develop.

"He's done everything for me. He's always given me confidence, told me off when I needed it and we've developed a very good relationship. He cares about me as much as I care about him. He's changed me as a player, not on the pitch, but in the way I think about training and development," Vinicius replied.

Speaking more about Carlo Ancelotti's contribution to his growth, Vinicius added:

"He always says that my humility is my biggest virtue because I always listen to the others. Whenever I score a goal in a match, I always want my teammates to score too, so they can be in a better position. I'm not driven by vanity, for playing with the best players, the big stars. Every day, he teaches me more and more on and off the pitch."

Vinicius has scored a total of 82 goals and made 75 assists for Real Madrid in 263 appearances across competitions.
