"I was really happy to be at the same club as him" – Pedro Neto says Chelsea teammate is getting 'better and better'

Chelsea summer arrival Pedro neto has heaped praise on his club teammate Joao Felix, claiming that the latter is improving on a daily basis.

Earlier this summer, the Blues signed Felix in a potential deal over £46 million from Atletico Madrid. They sold Conor Gallagher to the La Liga side for a fee of close to £36 million as part of the aforesaid switch.

So far this season, Felix has started five of his 10 appearances in all competitions. The 25-year-old versatile forward has found the back of the net five times and laid out one assist for Enzo Maresca's outfit.

During a latest press conference, Neto was asked to share his thoughts on playing alongside Felix at Chelsea. He replied (h/t beIN SPORTS):

"I'm with him every day, and he's getting better and better. I was really happy to be at the same club as him. He's an incredible player."

Felix, who bagged four goals in 20 overall matches while on loan at Chelsea in the 2022-23 season, has yet to start a league contest this term. He has featured in just 117 minutes of Premier League action.

Neto, on the other hand, has relished a stellar start to life at the west London team. The left-footed winger has registered three goals and as many assists in 15 overall games, including nine starts, this season.

Ex-Chelsea boss opens up on failed transfer

At a latest press conference, United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino stated he tried to sign Tyler Adams at the Blues in the summer of 2023. He remarked (h/t GOAL):

"We know very well that we need to look after him, to have [him] in the best condition for 2026. I know him very well because I think it's public that we wanted to sign him in Chelsea. When we arrived in Chelsea, I remember that in Chicago, we had a conversation."

Pochettino, who was let go by the Blues earlier this summer, added:

"We knew [about the talks] and after, the club didn't sign him because he was injured. That is why, in the end, we could not but we already know and we know how important [he can be] but we need to provide the good platform for him to get [to] his best."

After moving on from Adams, the Blues bolstered their midfield by roping in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia for a joint fee of £173 million.

Adams, on the other hand, has made just seven appearances across competitions for Bournemouth since departing Leeds United in 2023.
