"I don't see them failing to fire again" - Chris Sutton predicts result for Chelsea vs Fulham
Chris Sutton has backed Chelsea to beat Fulham this week in the Premier League. The BBC pundit claimed that the home side would get back to winning ways after drawing Everton on Sunday.
In his BBC column this week ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures, Sutton stated that he is a big fan of Marcoa Silva, the fulham manager, but does not see him getting one over Enzo Maresca. He said:
"I am a big fan of Fulham manager, Marco Silva, but the Cottagers have a dismal record at Stamford Bridge - they have not won there since 1979 - and there won't be any 'Silva Bells' ringing in celebration this time either. Chelsea will be disappointed not to have beaten Everton on Sunday, but I don't see them failing to fire again here. They are back on home turf, and they should be back to winning ways."
Eats Everything, aka DJ & producer Daniel Pearce, was also making his predictions against the BBC pundit and said:
"I'd normally just go with Chelsea here because they have been doing well but Fulham have really impressed me - Silva is another manager who has been given time to build a very handy team. Chelsea always seem to score though - their goalless draw with Everton on Sunday was the first time they had failed to score in the league since the opening weekend - so I am going to play it safe and back them to edge it."
Both Chris Sutton and Daniel Pearce have backed the Blues to win 2-1 over their London Derby rivals on Boxing Day. Both teams are unbeaten in their last 5 matches, but the home side have won four, while the away side have won just once.
Alan Shearer backs Chelsea to beat Fulham this weekend
Alan Shearer was making his predictions for the Premier League fixtures this week when he backed Chelsea to beat Fulham. He claims that the Blues will not be easy for the away side to beat and said on Metro:
"A London derby. Fulham were pretty weak in forward positions against Southampton and Chelsea didn’t get the result they wanted against Everton, but they’re back at home, so I’m going to go for a Chelsea win in this one."
Enzo Maresca's side are 2nd in the Premier League table, while Maro Silva's team are sitting 9th in the league table.
