“I think it's a great signing for Arsenal" - Sergio Aguero on former teammate's move to the Gunners this summer

Sergio Aguero has claimed that Raheem Sterling is a great signing for Arsenal. He believes the Englishman knows Mikel Arteta and will work well under the manager.

Speaking to Stake, Aguero stated that Sterling is a solid reinforcement for the Gunners this season. He added that Arteta would be able to get the best out of the former Liverpool star as they had worked together at Manchester City. He said:

"I think it's a great signing for Arsenal. Arteta and Raheem know each other very well from their time at City. Mikel will surely be able to find a way to let Sterling show his best game. Besides, the team is very well-consolidated, and they've been a tough contender over the last few seasons. The team has a deep bench and Raheem comes as a solid reinforcement. They'll come out as a stronger rival for sure."

Raheem Sterling made a deadline day move to the Emirates on loan from Chelsea. He was banished from the squad by Enzo Maresca as he did not fit his tactics at Stamford Bridge.

Rio Ferdinand backs Raheem Sterling to shine at Arsenal after joining from Chelsea

Rio Ferdinand has also backed Raheem Sterling to do well under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. He believes the Gunners can go all the way for the Premier League title this season with the help of the Chelsea loanee.

He said on his YouTube channel:

"What a mad circus act this was. But I’m just pleased and happy that the situation got sorted out for Raheem Sterling and he got a move he wanted. The situation wasn’t handled properly – it could’ve been better from Chelsea. But I’m glad he’s gone now. It’s a great business by Arsenal. From their perspective, this is a ridiculous bit of business.
"You’re getting an experienced winger who has won four league titles, he knows how to get it done. He’s played for some of the biggest clubs this country has to offer. He knows the path to trophies and that is invaluable. How Chelsea have let that out the door I don’t know, it’s crazy. This is a marriage made in heaven for Arsenal. It’s a perfect fit for me," he added.

The Gunners are reportedly paying just £96,000 per week as wages to Raheem Sterling this season. Chelsea are covering the rest of the wages as he remains on contract with The Blues.
