“I think Pep could be more worried about them than Arsenal” - Paul Scholes names surprise club that could challenge Manchester City for PL title

Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has claimed that Liverpool are potentially the stronger challengers to Manchester City for the Premier League title than Arsenal. The 11-time Premier League winner has insisted that the Reds are likely to pose the Cityzens a bigger challenge compared to Mikel Arteta's side.

Speaking on the Fan Debate from the Overlap, Scholes reacted to Liverpool fan Chloe Buxom's claim that this is the Gunners' best chance to win the title. In response, the former Manchester United midfielder insisted that he rates Arne Slot's side's chances of winning the title higher.

Scholes suggested that the Merseyside giants have a stronger team and play a more exciting brand of football compared to the north London giants. The former England midfielder said, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo:

"You don't think you've got a chance? I think you're better than Arsenal. You've got a better squad, and possibly team. They excite me more. It's not nice saying that, but honestly Liverpool do excite me more when I watch them, when I see their players."

Scholes added:

"Everything they've got, it feels better than Arsenal. I think Pep could be more worried about Liverpool than he is Arsenal."

Arne Slot had massive shoes to fill when he was named as the replacement for a manager of Jurgen Klopp's caliber and charisma. The Dutchman has done well since taking charge at Liverpool, with the Reds winning seven of his first eight games across competitions.

The Merseyside giants are currently at the top of the Premier League table with 15 points in six games. Apart from a shock 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest, they have been flawless under Slot.

Mark Goldbridge claims Arsenal star is superior to Chelsea's Cole Palmer

Famous Youtuber and radio presenter Mark Goldbridge has claimed that he rates Arsenal star Bukayo Saka higher than Chelsea's Cole Palmer. Palmer has been in exceptional form since joining the Blues in the summer of 2023 in a reported £42.5 million deal from Manchester City.

Palmer has registered six goals and four assists in eight games across competitions this season. His debut season at Chelsea saw him score 25 goals and create another 15 in 45 appearances.

However, despite Palmer's superb run of form, Manchester United fan Goldbridge insisted that he still rates Saka higher. While insisting that Saka's longevity must be taken into account, he said:

"I'm a massive fan of Saka so I'm gonna go Saka. I think Cole Palmer is amazing but I think sometimes you have to look at longevity as well. I think there's big similarities and a lot of people would say Cole Palmer, but I think what Cole Palmer is doing at Chelsea, Saka has done at Arsenal for three or four years."

Goldbridge added:

"That Arsenal team wasn't very good and Saka has always been the consistent player in that growth of that dynasty."

Bukayo Saka has been one of the key players for the Gunners over the years and has been at his usual best this season too. He has scored one goal and provided five assists in eight appearances across competitions this season.

In total, the 23-year-old has scored 59 goals and produced 58 assists in 234 appearances for the north London outfit to date.
