"I think he's quicker than me" - Gabriel Martinelli names fastest player in the Arsenal squad

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has named left-back Kieran Tierney as the fastest player in the current Gunners' squad while speaking to Men in Blazers (via TBR Football). This is a serious admission on the Brazilian's part given that he himself is known to be among the fastest players in the Arsenal roster.

Arsenal have some of the fastest players in the Premier League at the moment, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Leandro Trossard, and Jurrien Timber being stars in their own right. Martinelli, who is known to be faster than all of them, has made the surprising mention of Tierney to these ranks.

The Scottish left-back has been laid low by a thigh injury for quite some time now, and is expected to make a comeback only in the latter half of November. He sustained his injury in June and has not been able to make an appearance in the Premier League this season as of yet.

Martinelli, on the other hand, is one of the most important members of Mikel Arteta's squad, and has scored three goals already in the EPL this season. The Brazilian has also provided two assists in the 11 league matches he has played for the London-based side, and is a vital presence on the left wing.

Arsenal face a stiff title challenge this season

Arsenal are ranked fourth in the league table at the moment with 19 points to their name. They face stiff competition from Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea for the title in this campaign, and Arteta's wards will have to improve upon their showing considerably after the November international break.

The Gunners have won just five out of 11 matches they have played in the Premier League this season, scoring 18 goals and conceding 12. Their most recent 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday will dishearten their supporters a lot, who will be looking forward to a title challenge after missing out in the last two years.
