“I want to do more here” - 22-year-old star sets goals he aims to achieve at Manchester United
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has expressed his desire to win trophies with the club. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old suggested that lifting the Premier League and the Champions League with the Red Devils is a dream of his.
He said (via @FabrizioRomano on Twitter):
"I dream to win more trophies with Man United, a lot of trophies!"
"Champions League, Premier League, everything. I want to win with this club."
"One of the best days of my life was to sign with the club and I want to do more here."
Diallo signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2021 after impressing as a youngster with Serie A side Atalanta. He spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Sunderland before breaking into the first team last year.
The rising star has taken on a bigger role with the side this season, carving a role out for himself as the primary option on the right wing. He has made eight appearances this season, collecting one goal and one assist.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains why Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo
Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, has admitted that the side signed Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2021 only to prevent him from joining their rivals. He went on to suggest that the move for the Portuguese superstar had a negative effect on the dressing room.
Speaking at the Oslo Business Forum, he said (via The Mirror):
“Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best players in the world the last 15 years. I played with him. He played for Manchester United.
“He has history with the club and he's leaving Juventus but we can not give him to Manchester City because he will score more goals than Erling Haaland is doing at the moment probably.
“So I speak to Cristiano. We get him to Man United but I think maybe that affected the whole dressing room, the dynamic in the dressing room.
“Maybe other players felt less important because of course this is one of the world superstars that comes in. He did well. He was top scorer that year, scored 24 goals or something, but I was out of the job 10 weeks later!”
After rumors of an exit from Juventus, Manchester City were close to signing Ronaldo. However, the Red Devils swooped in at the last moment, confirming a reunion with the star striker.
His second stint was much less memorable than his first one after he left in December 2022 in acrimonious circumstances. Ronaldo had a fiery interview criticizing manager Erik ten Hag and the state of the club, leading to Manchester United terminating his contract.
