"I want to be somewhere where I'm valued" - Spain's Euro 2024 winner speaks on future amid links to Barcelona and Manchester City

Striker Dani Olmo - who won Euro 2024 with Spain - has opened up about his future amid links to Barcelona and Manchester City. The 26-year-old striker is coming off an impressive campaign with La Roja.

In six games in Germany, Olmo scored thrice and assisted twice - with all three goals and one of the assists coming in the knockouts. La Roja won a record fourth European Championship by beating Germany 2-1 in the final in Berlin.

However, Olmo had a rather underwhelming season with Leipzig despite starting off with a hat-trick in the DFL Super-Cup win over Bayern Munich, registering eight goals and five assists in 25 games across competitions.

Despite his Leipzig contract expiring in 2027, Olmo has been linked with a move away, with Barcelona and Manchester City interested. The striker commented on his future (as per GOAL), saying that he would like to be at a place where he's valued:

"We'll see. Yesterday we celebrated all day and now I'm at the campus. The people who deal with that (transfer market) already know what I want to do. I don't know if I'll stay in Germany, we'll see. I want to be somewhere where I'm valued and loved, and what I want to do is win. There are several options, we'll see what happens.
"The truth is that between the Euro cup, the celebration and the campus, I have seen little of that. What I want is an ambitious project, and I want to win titles."

For now, Olmo is expected to join Leipzig for their first pre-season abroad - in the United States - after a short vacation.

Spain striker Dani Olmo scored the winner in the 2-1 Euro 2024 semi-final win over France. The striker found the back of the net off a deflected strike off Jules Kounde after La Roja had equalised four minutes earlier through Lamine Yamal.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente was effusive in his praise of the Barcelona and Manchester City target, admitting that he's aware of Olmo's prowess (as per UEFA.com):

"I know what he's capable of. He only needed time to overcome an injury, integrate and recover the pace and rhythm that he needed. I am grateful to Dani for what he brings to us on the pitch."

The Spain striker would be a fantastic addition at both Barcelona and Manchester City, but for now, the Euro 2024 winner is set to join Leipzig's pre-season tour of the States.
