"I wish him the greatest luck" - Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to newly appointed Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim

Cristiano Ronaldo has lent his support to new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager left Sporting CP to take charge at Old Trafford on Monday, November 11.

The Red Devils are at a crossroads once again following a poor start to the campaign. Manchester United finished last season in eighth place in the Premier League but won the FA Cup.

Things failed to get better under Erik ten Hag this season. A poor run of results saw the Red Devils slump to the bottom half of the league table, which ultimately cost the Dutchman his job.

Amorim, meanwhile, is one of the most exciting young coaches in the world and has transformed Sporting's fortunes since taking charge in 2020. He has won two league titles, among other honors, with the club in the last four years, but will have his task cut out with the English giants.

Speaking recently, as cited by UtdPlug, Cristiano Ronaldo wished Amorim the best of luck in his new endeavor.

“I wish him the greatest luck in the world because Manchester needs it,” said Ronaldo.

Interestingly, Ronaldo had a fallout with ten Hag at Manchester United, which led to the player's exit in December 2022. The Portuguese ace had joined the Premier League giants for his second stint in the summer of 2021.

The Dutch manager was stationed in the hot seat at Old Trafford the following summer. Cristiano Ronaldo was soon at loggerheads with ten Hag and criticized him in a controversial interview.

The Red Devils terminated his contract and the superstar joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022. However, ten Hag's vision at Old Trafford failed to materialize and he was ousted from the role at the end of October this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo first arrived at Manchester United from Sporting CP in the summer of 2003. The Portuguese won several trophies with the Red Devils, including his first Champions League title in 2008.

Ronaldo also won his first Ballon d'Or trophy as a Manchester United player. He left the English giants in the summer of 2009 to join Real Madrid.

After a nine-year stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and three more seasons with Juventus, the Portuguese returned for his second stint at Old Trafford. When he left in December 2022, the 39-year-old had registered 145 goals from 346 games for the Red Devils across two stints.
