"Ice in his veins", "Give him a lifetime contract" - Real Madrid fans hail 'underrated' star's performance in 3-2 win over Barcelona
Real Madrid fans heaped praise on Lucas Vazquez following their 3-2 El Clasico win over Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday, April 21.
The versatile player, who operated as the right-back against Barca, did extremely well on the night, as he helped Los Blancos begin their comeback and eventually secure the win. After Andreas Christensen scored in the sixth minute, Vazquez got into the penalty area and was brought down by Barca's Pau Cubarsi, which handed them a penalty.
Vinicius Junior scored from 12 yards to level the scoreline in the 18th minute, but Barcelona regained the lead through Fermin Lopez in the 69th minute. Real Madrid retaliated just four minutes later through Lucas Vazquez. The Spaniard got on the end of a cross from Vinicius and buried his effort to put Madrid level again.
In the first minute of second-half stoppage time, Vazquez found Jude Bellingham inside the box, who sealed all three points for the Madridistas.
Fans heaped praise on Vazquez after the game. Here are some of their reactions:
"Big legend, very underrated. Give him a lifetime contract," said one fan.
"that vasquez guy moving like cafu," said another.
"ICE IN HIS VEINS," another exclaimed.
"Unreal workhorse. Never complains about playing time and always gives his 100%" a fan praised Vazquez.
"Renew his contract," demanded a fan.
"Lord Lucas Vasquez, may he be pleased," said another.
