"If Cristiano Ronaldo joined Inter Miami, it would be amazing" - Pundit wants Portugal star to link up with Lionel Messi at MLS side
Former Portugal star Pedro Mendes has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. He wants to see the two players in the same team before they end their careers.
Speaking to BoyleSports, Mendes said that Ronaldo and Messi are the best players in the history of football. He believes that the duo playing together would be a dream come true:
"If Cristiano Ronaldo joined Inter Miami, it would be amazing for the fans and incredible for football in America.
"It would mean that the two best players in the history and future of football, Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, would finish their careers together, which would be a dream come true. However, I can’t see it happening. It would be very difficult."
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated the world of football for nearly two decades. They have won 13 Ballon d'Or awards between them and are regarded as the greatest of their generation.
Cristiano Ronaldo took shots at Lionel Messi for MLS move
Cristiano Ronaldo took shots at MLS and Lionel Messi and said that the Saudi Pro League is better. He added that the Middle Eastern league is close to overtaking Super Lig of Turkey and the Dutch Eredivisie (via ESPN):
"The Saudi league is better than MLS. I opened the way to the Saudi league, and now all the players are coming here. In one year, more and more top players will come to Saudi. In a year, the Saudi league will overtake the Turkish league and Dutch league."
Ronaldo has ruled out a move back to Europe and added that the quality has reduced in most leagues. He believes that the Premier League is the only top league:
"I'm 100 percent sure I won't return to any European club. I'm 38 years old. And European football has lost a lot of quality. The only valid one and still doing good is the Premier League. They're way ahead of all the other leagues."
Ronaldo is unlikely to join Lionel Messi in the MLS, as he's in contract talks with Al Nassr.
