“If she takes care of her husband’s diet, she’ll have less time to speak about me” - When Jose Mourinho hit out at ex-Chelsea manager’s wife

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's comments on fellow manager Rafael Benitez's wife have resurfaced. Benitez's wife, Montserrat Seara, famously joked that her husband tidied up the mess left behind by Mourinho when Benitez took charge at Real Madrid.

Benitez took over at Real Madrid in 2015 and became the manager of the third club formerly managed by the Portuguese. The Spaniard had previously come in as a direct replacement for Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan in 2010.

Benitez also took charge of Chelsea as an interim manager in 2012 although he was not the immediate successor to Mourinho. Montserrat Seara poked fun at Mourinho when her husband became Real Madrid manager in 2015, with Mourinho formerly being in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu between 2010 and 2013.

She had to Sky Sports: (via Bleacher Report):

"Real are the third of Jose Mourinho's old teams (that) Rafa has coached. We tidy up his messes! If you think about it, of course you end up crossing paths. There are only a few world-class clubs out there."

While responding to Seara's comments, Mourinho took offence and hit out at how Benitez ruined his treble-winning Inter Milan side in 2010. The former Real Madrid manager said in 2015, as quoted by Sky Sports:

"The lady is a bit confused. I am not laughing. Her husband went to Chelsea to replace Roberto Di Matteo and he went to Real Madrid and replaced Carlo Ancelotti. The only club where her husband replaced me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time."

Mourinho added:

"For her also to think about me and to speak about me, I think she needs to occupy her time, and if she takes care of her husband’s diet she will have less time to speak about me."

Jose Mourinho and Rafael Benitez haven't been on the best of terms with each other over the years. The duo were in charge of Chelsea and Liverpool respectively at the same time and the two sides had several high-profile encounters.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants Fenerbahce to sign 2 Manchester United stars: Reports

Ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a double raid on former employers Manchester United this summer. As per Turkish outlet SporX, the Portuguese manager, who took charge at Fenerbahce this summer, wants Casemiro and Victor Lindelof.

Manchester United are thought to be looking for an overhaul this summer and want to offload both Lindelof and Casemiro. The former had joined the Red Devils back in 2017 in a deal worth a reported £30 million.

Fenerbahce are reportedly looking to secure Linedlof's signature for around £8.5 million. They are also exploring the possibility of signing Casemiro but will only launch a move if the asking price is reasonable.
