"In order for that to happen I need to prove it" - Premier League star admits he supports Arsenal amid reported interest
Premier League attacker Antonie Semenyo has admitted that he is an Arsenal fan amid interest from the Gunners. As claimed by Football.London, the Bournemouth forward has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
As per the aforementioned report, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all expressed their interest in the 24-year-old. The versatile attacker has now fueled the speculation by admitting he is a boyhood Arsenal fan.
The Ghana international has claimed while he supports the Gunners, he is fully committed to his club. He also insisted that he dreams of playing for a bigger club in the future playing continental football. He told The Athletic, as quoted by Footballtransfers.com:
“I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen I need to prove it."
Semenyo added:
“Yeah, any team that plays Champions League, Europa (League) — that’s the aim. I know that’s not going to come with a click of my fingers, it’s going to take some time. It’s going to take goals."
The forward concluded:
"It’s going to take a lot of consistent performances. But I’ve worked all my life for that and I’m just going to continue working hard. That’s my mentality.”
Semenyo has done really well since joining Bournemouth in the summer of 2023 from Bristol City in a deal worth reported £10 million. He has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 55 appearances for the Cherries till date.

The 21-year-old has made 163 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen till date having contributed with 47 goals and 51 assists. He is also capped 27 times for Germany and has scored four times while producing six assists.
