India Badminton star Lakshya Sen supports Premier League giants, old Instagram posts resurface after incredible win at Paris Olympics

Indian Badminton star Lakshya Sen has sent shockwaves in the shuttling world with his latest win against third-seed Jonatan Christie at the Paris Olympics 2024. Sen is an avid Manchester City supporter as his resurfaced Instagram posts show.

Sen is the first men's Indian shuttler to progress to the Round of 16 of the Olympics since Kidambi Srikanth in Rio 2016. He survived a group of death and registered a win against one of the medal favorites and world No. 4 Christie.

Sen, apart from his success in Badminton, is seemingly a big fan of reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. He could be seen donning the Sky Blue in several of his social media posts. One of the posts after City's 2022-23 UEFA Champions League triumph read:

"Finally! Champions of Europe. Manchester City #UCLFinal2023."

Lakshya Sen's favorite team Manchester City are currently one of the best club sides in world football. Sen himself is grabbing the headlines with his inspiring performances at the Paris Olympics 2024. He will have the expectation of the entire India on his shoulders in the Round of 16 and hopefully more into the deeper ends of the competition.

Lakshya Sen's Paris Olympics 2024 journey so far

Lakshya Sen beat Guatemala's Kevin Cordon in his opening game of the Paris Olympics 2024 (21-8, 22-20). He beat Belgium's Julien Carragi 21-19, 21-14 in his second group match.

In the final game of Group L, Sen came up against a stalwart in Christie. The Indonesian is the current All-England champion and also a gold medalist at the Asian Games 2018.

Sen had already lost twice to the Indonesian earlier this year. However, he defied all odds to register a sensational win against Christie, beating him 21-18, 21-12.
