Is Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Portugal against Czech Republic at Euro 2024 tonight?

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start when Portugal commence their Euro 2024 campaign against Czech Republic on Tuesday, June 18. The Selecao will look to win their second European Championship, following their triumph in 2016.

They come into Euro 2024 in mixed form, though, after a perfect qualifying campaign, winning three of five games, losing twice.

Cristiano Ronaldo played two of those friendlies. He played the full 90 minutes in the last one against Ireland and scored a brace in a 3-0 victory. Joao Felix scored the other goal.

Ronaldo is coming into the 2024 European Championship in excellent form, after a 44-goal season with Al-Nassr. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner should therefore start and lead Portugal's attack against Czechia.

Roberto Martinez have several attacking options to choose from to partner Ronaldo in attack. The likes of Rafael Leao and Joao Felix are in contention to play in attack, with Bruno Fernandes supporting the trio from midfield. Bernando Silva, Goncalo Ramos and Diogo Jota are the other forwards in a talented Portugal squad.

Ronaldo is in contention to break several records at this year's Euros. When he makes an appearance at Euro 2024, he will become the first player to feature in six European Championships since his competition debut at home in 2004.

The Euro 2016 winners have been handed a relatively easy group, with Turkey, Georgia and the aforementioned Czech Republic, so Ronaldo and Co. will be expected to reach the knockouts.

Cristiano Ronaldo's club form will be huge boost for Portugal at Euro 2024

Despite turning 39 earlier this year, Cristiano Ronaldo shows no signs of stopping, which will be a big boost for Portugal's hopes at Euro 2024. The skipper is coming into the tournament on a back of a hugely successful season in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo played his first full season with Al-Nassr and registered 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 games across competitions. Unfortunately, his side didn't win any silverware.

Ronaldo also has excellent numbers - 130 goals from 207 caps - for Portugal. Ten of those strikes came in their qualifying campaign.
