“It doesn’t matter” - Real Madrid star Endrick makes admission on becoming youngest ever goalscorer for club in Champions League
Real Madrid star Endrick has claimed he is more interested in helping the club succeed than dwelling on individual glory. The Brazilian youngster made history on Tuesday, September 17, as he became the youngest goalscorer for Los Blancos in the UEFA Champions League.
Endrick scored on his Champions League debut for the club. The 18-year-old came off the bench to grab a late goal in Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart at home. Subbed on in the 80th minute, he converted a fine solo effort in added time, delivering a fierce shot that beat the opposition goalkeeper.
By doing so, the Brazilian became the youngest player to score for Madrid in the competition (18 years, one month, and 27 days). He overtook the previous record created by club legend Raul Gonzalez in 1995 against Ferencvaros (18 years, three months, and 21 days).
Endrick's display and record-setting have earned him praise from fans, teammates, and coach Carlo Ancelotti. However, the player has said that he doesn't care about being the club's youngest Champions League goalscorer. According to him, what matters is helping the club win.
"Being the youngest UCL goalscorer in Real Madrid’s history? It doesn’t matter. What matters is helping Real Madrid, which is what I want to do all my life," Endrick said (as per MadridXtra on X).
So far, the former Palmeiras youngster has lived up to expectations. Although he has yet to start a game for Los Blancos, he has been able to score on both his La Liga and UEFA Champions League debut.
Real Madrid youngster Endrick ties the knot with 21-year-old girlfriend
Teenage sensation Endrick recently tied the knot with his girlfriend Gabriely Miranda and shared heartwarming photos of their union on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, Endrick and Miranda reportedly met less than a year ago. While the Brazilian has gained popularity in football, his partner is also a well-known social media influencer with over one million followers on Instagram.
Endrick signed for Los Blancos in 2022 for a reported fee of €35 million from Palmeiras. However, he remained with the Brazilian club and only joined the Spanish giants in the summer after he turned 18. He will next be in action when the Spanish giants take on Espanyol at home in La Liga on Saturday, September 21.
