"It was forbidden by the club's rules" - Zinedine Zidane says Juventus teammate convinced him to play in parking lots

Zinedine Zidane's comments about playing in the parking lots alongside former Juventus teammate Edgar Davids have surfaced on social media. An Instagram handle (@5asidemedia) recently shared a story narrated by the 1998 FIFA World Cup winner.

Zidane said Davids once convinced him to play in a parking lot despite it being banned by the club. Speaking about playing in the parking lot and interacting with other people, the French icon said:

"One day after training, Edgar Davids came to me and said: 'Do you want to come and play a street game with me?' I told him he was carzy, and besides, it was forbidden by the club's rules to avoid injuries."

Zidane added:

"In the end, he convinced me, and I decided to go with him to play a game in a parking lot. I went a few times and it's true that I would wear a fisherman's hat to go play on asphalt lots with the immigrants in Turin."
"He was crazy about it. He did it very often. He would drive around and when he saw someone playing in a parking lot, he would stop to join them. He always told me, 'It is for them that we must play, these are the important games,'" Zidane added.
