“It makes no sense” - Fabrizio Romano makes interesting claim on what he would like to change in football
Reputed football journalist Fabrizio Romano has opened up on what he would like to change in the sport. The transfer expert said that he would make the summer transfer window shorter, as it's currently too long and makes no sense.
Fabrizio Romano needs no introduction. The Italian is one who has always had the attention of the football world when it comes to transfer-related subjects, so his latest claim will make headlines.
During an interview with Rising Ballers on YouTube, the journalist explained why he would like to trim down the length of the summer transfer window.
“The thing I would change in the football industry is probably the summer transfer window," he began. "I would make it way shorter, it’s way too long.
"It makes no sense because at the end of the day, we really have some weeks where nothing is happening and then suddenly a player who is playing [pre-season] for you will play against you in a couple of weeks.
He continued:
“It’d be perfect to make it shorter and allow the managers to work with their real squads starting from the first game of the season.
"Maybe you can do a longer window in the winter transfer window by including December to help clubs fix things. Now it’s already May, and we’re reporting news and will keep doing it till September,” he added.
It promises to be another busy summer for Fabrizio Romano. All eyes will be on him once again as football fans look to get reliable information about their clubs' dealings in the transfer market.
It's fair to say that the Euros and the Copa America have hogged most of the attention this summer. All that will change when both tournaments conclude this weekend, and transfer reports will peak again.
