“It’s the dream of any footballer” - 21-year-old LaLiga star opens up on aspirations to play for Barcelona

Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro has admitted that joining Barcelona will be a dream come true. The Spaniard has caught the eye of many in Spain this season, even drawing comparisons with Pedri. The Blaugrana midfielder also started his career with the Canarian club before moving to Camp Nou in 2020.

Moleiro has appeared 13 times for Las Palmas this season, registering four goals. His performances have reportedly turned the heads of multiple clubs in the country.

The Catalans are well-stocked in midfield for now, but could be tempted to make a move for the 21-year-old in the future. Interestingly, the player's contract with Las Palmas expires at the end of next season, so there could be an opportunity to prise him away next summer.

Speaking to Mes Que Pilotes, Moleiro insisted that he would be ready for the next step in his career in due time.

"Right now I'm very happy and I'm not thinking about going out or anything like that. But hopefully in the future I'll be in a big league like Barca or any other. I think it's the dream of any footballer. When it's time, we'll have to be ready," said Moleiro.

Pedri has appeared 17 times across competitions this season for Barcelona, registering three goals and two assists. He is now an indispensable part of Hansi Flick's starting XI.

Barcelona have taken to Hansi Flick's tactics like fish to water this season. The German manager took over from Xavi this summer and has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Camp Nou.

The Catalans have registered 11 wins and two defeats in 13 games in the league, which includes a 4-0 drubbing of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Barcelona are leading the title race right now, six points ahead of second-placed Los Blancos, who have a game in hand.

Flick's team had an inauspicious start to their Champions League campaign, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Monaco in September. Since then, however, they have won all three games in Europe, even defeating Bayern Munich 4-1 at Camp Nou.

The Catalans have won 14 of their 17 games across competitions this season, scoring 55 goals and letting in 17. Robert Lewandowski is their top scorer this campaign, with 19 goals from 17 games.
