"It's not good enough" - Dimitar Berbatov on Manchester United's performance in their 0-0 draw against Aston Villa

Dimitar Berbatov has stated that Manchester United players should be ashamed of their performance against Aston Villa after the sides played out a 0-0 draw in the Premier League on Sunday, October 6. He believes that Jonny Evans being the man of the match despite being 36 years old should be a wake up call for the players.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Berbatov claimed that the criticism of the Manchester United players and manager will grow as things are not improving. The former United striker said (via The United Stand on X):

"I’m trying to find the right words here. It’s not good enough. Johnny Evans credit to him but anyone younger than him should take notice and play better. I think the criticism will continue. They are 14th and that’s unbelievable and it will continue."

Manchester United have collected just eight points from their first seven league matches this season. They will face Brentford, West Ham United, and Chelsea in their next three Premier League fixtures after the October international break.

Erik ten Hag not worried about Manchester United future

According to reports, Erik ten Hag is under pressure at Manchester United and the draw at Aston Villa has made it worse for the Dutchman. The Red Devils hierarchy was at the Villa Park but the manager has stated that he is not worried about his future. He said (via Mirror):

"We always speak, every week we speak. We are all on board together, on one page, we know what we are working through it's a long-term process. We have come through two very tough away games. This is a team, we showed the belief and faith we have. I think it's the fourth clean sheet this season. You see we had a very good organisation and togetherness. There was good character and good spirit as a team. Determined, resilient. We almost didn't concede a chance, when you defend like this and get some luck, in the end they had a big chance but it was almost the only chance I think. We created some chances, also not so many chances."

Manchester United have been linked with Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Gareth Southgate if they decide to sack Erik ten Hag in the near future.
