"It’s all love between both of them" - Fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to borrow boots from Portugal teammate in 3-0 Turkey win
Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to borrow a pair of boots from teammate Bruno Fernandes in Portugal's 3-0 win over Turkey on Saturday (22 June), and fans are elated by the duo's friendship.
The Selecao put three past Turkey in their second group-stage fixture of the 2024 European Championships this weekend. Bernardo Silva (21') opened the scoring in the first half before Samet Akaydin's own goal (28') put Portugal 2-0 up at the break.
During the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to be wearing a pair of boots with the name of Fernandes' daughter, Matilde, printed on it. The duo combined together to score Portugal's third goal (56').
Ronaldo latched on to a lofted pass and was two-on-one with Turkey goalkeeper Altay Bayindir. Instead of slotting it past the keeper himself, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner opted to lay it off for Fernandes, who comfortably found the back of the net.
Supporters are delighted by Ronaldo's friendship with Fernandes and the fact that they're sharing boots, and have taken to social media.

Martinez believes that Ronaldo's decision to pass the ball to his teammate despite being in on goal is a trait that must be taught in every football academy around the world.
Speaking after the game, he said:
“About Cristiano Ronaldo, today I saw something spectacular. In front of the goalkeeper, he preferred to pass to Bruno Fernandes. This should be shown in all training academies in Portugal and the world,” the Portugal manager said.
