Journalist provides update on Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho's future at the club
Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund, is reportedly open to make a return to Old Trafford. However, it all hinges on manager Erik ten Hag's future at the club. If the Dutchman leaves, the 24-year-old is expected to stay put in United colors.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has reported:
"After his last experience on loan at BVB, Jadon Sancho could stay at Man Utd next season under a new manager. As told, Erik Ten Hag's position is at risk and the winger is open to discussing his role in the squad with the possible next coach."
The Englishman moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United for €85 million in the summer of 2021, after four fruitful years at Signal Iduna Park. In his first stint in the Bundesliga, Sancho bagged 49 goals and 64 assists in 136 games for Die Schwarzgelben.
He struggled to find his footing at Old Trafford, and couldn't get along with head coach Ten Hag either. This was a recipe for disaster, as Sancho only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 games for the Red Devils. He also had a public falling out with the Dutchman in September last year.
Now back at Dortmund on loan, he has been rediscovering his lost touch. He has three goals and two assists since joining in January, averaging a goal contribution every two and a half games.
If Ten Hag getd sacked in the summer, it will be very interesting to see if Sancho can make his way back into the Manchester United starting lineup.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, currently on loan at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, scored a wondergoal against league rivals RB Leipzig.
In the 20th minute of the game on April 27, a Leipzig defender cleared a corner kick but the ball fell to Sancho near the edge of the penalty area. He took a touch to bring it onto his right foot before unleashing a lethal curler into the top right corner beyond a helpless Peter Gulacsi.
The goal can be seen at the start of this video:
Sancho's incredible strike, however, wasn't enough for his side as they fell 4-1 to their opposition in a huge match for the fourth position in the league. Leipzig are fourth, five points above Dortmund.
Manchester United staff and fans alike will be wondering what could possibly have gone wrong with the 24-year-old at Old Trafford. Clearly, the talent he possesses is on full display in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League.
The winger looks set to return to the Premier League giants upon the expiration of his loan. United will be hoping that Sancho can continue his great run of form at Old Trafford as well.
