Jude Bellingham describes Luka Modric in 4 words as he wishes 'happy birthday' to Real Madrid legend

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham wished his teammate Luka Modric a happy birthday through a post on his social media. The Croatian legend turned 39 on Monday, September 9.

Bellingham posted a picture of the two of them during the club's open-top bus parade at the end of last season. He wished the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner a happy birthday, writing:

"Happy Birthday legend, one of a kind."

The duo played a key role last season as Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Supercopa de Espana. Jude Bellingham was named in the 30-player shortlist for the Ballon d'Or, but his teammate was omitted from the list.

Modric, who is entering his 13th season for the Merengues, turned 39 on Monday. Despite being in the twilight of his career, the Croat has appeared in all four matches the club has played so far this season, starting one.

Jude Bellingham expected to ease Real Madrid's injury concerns: Reports

Carlo Ancelotti's side is battling an injury crisis at the moment. The last week led to injuries for Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eder Militao. The four players join the trio of Jude Bellingham, David Alaba, and Eduardo Camavinga on the treatment table.

The Italian manager is left with just 14 senior players to pick from for this weekend's match against Real Sociedad on September 14. However, according to The Athletic, their star midfielder, Jude Bellingham, is set for an early return from his calf injury.

Earlier last month, Real Madrid had issued a statement confirming the injury to the 21-year-old, which read:

"Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. Pending evolution."

Bellingham's injury was feared to be more serious than initially expected with the youngster posting a message thanking Real Madrid fans for their support. The midfielder, who missed England's UEFA Nations League matches this week, posted the following message on his Instagram account:

"Nothing I hate more than missing games but trying to see the positive side and maybe my body is telling me it needs a bit more rest after a busy year. I’m very frustrated but I’ll be supporting the lads like a fan until I can rejoin them again in my best and strongest form. Thanks for your messages of concern and support. Lots of love and Hala Madrid!"

However, the talented Englishman is on course to feature for Carlo Ancelotti's side this weekend.
