Jude Bellingham hilariously reacts to ignoring call from Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, shares Instagram graphic
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is currently enjoying his break, but he left Carlo Ancelotti quite ‘angry’ by not answering his phone call.
In a humorous exchange with the media a few days ago, Ancelotti revealed that Bellingham, however, did answer a call from Vinicius Junior shortly afterward. The England international has now joined in on the joke by sharing a hilarious picture on his social media profile.
Real Madrid, now in the United States, suffered two defeats against AC Milan and FC Barcelona. However, most of their key players, including Bellingham, are still unavailable.
Vinicius, meanwhile, recently joined the Madrid camp and even played in the El Clasico against Barcelona. Reflecting on his attempt to reach Bellingham after the game, Ancelotti humorously remarked:
"Yesterday I got angry with Bellingham, I called him and he didn’t pick up and I told Vinicius to call him and he picked up," he said.
In response to Ancelotti’s playful comments, Bellingham shared a picture of his surprised reaction to seeing his boss’ call on Instagram. This exchange certainly highlights a warm and light-hearted moment between the player and coach as they prepare for the new season.
The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder enjoyed a stellar debut season in Madrid, scoring 23 goals in 42 appearances, while helping his side win the La Liga and Champions League.
He is set to return to training this week, with hopes that both he and Kylian Mbappe will be available for the Super Cup clash against Atalanta on August 14.
Real Madrid manager confident Jude Bellingham will continue to shine despite Kylian Mbappe’s arrival
With Real Madrid assembling a formidable attack, the question arises about how much is too much. Last season, the likes of Rodrygo, Vinicius, and Bellingham were exceptional, and with Mbappe’s arrival, the attack has only become stronger.
The challenge now is how Ancelotti will balance and manage his options. Bellingham, who was a standout performer last season, might need to adapt his role due to Mbappe’s presence, which could potentially impact his form.
However, Ancelotti has assured that Mbappe’s arrival will not affect Bellingham, going on to emphasize that the Englishman will continue to be one of the world’s top players.
"Nothing changes for him. Nothing changes. The first season, he surprised a lot, because he showed fantastic quality, a really mature guy. The next season will not be different. He is going to be one of the best players that we have, supporting the team a lot with his quality," Ancelotti said (via Outlook).
The Italian coach also mentioned that he was impressed by Bellingham’s performances in the Euros, where he scored twice and guided England to the final.
"This is an opinion, but Bellingham played really well at the Euros. England played really well, they reached the final and were close to winning it," he added.
Next, the Los Blancos will take on Chelsea in their final pre-season match on August 6, before facing Atalanta in the Super Cup and then starting their La Liga campaign against Mallorca on August 18.
