Jude Bellingham shared a Theodore Roosevelt quote on social media after England faced defeat in the Euro 2024 final against Spain. The match ended in a 2-1 loss for the Three Lions on July 14, at Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany.

Following a goalless first half, Spain opened the scoring through Nico Williams in the 47th minute, from an assist by Lamine Yamal. England found their equalizer in the 73rd with Chelsea star Cole Palmer's goal, assisted by Jude Bellingham. Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winning goal for La Roja in the 86th minute through an assist by Marc Cucurella.

Following the Three Lions' loss at the Euro 2024 final, the Real Madrid midfielder shared a picture of the English squad on his Instagram story. He captioned it with a quote by former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, that read:

"And who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."

Bellingham, who made his senior debut for the Three Lions in 2020, recorded two goals and one assist in the Euro 2024. Overall, the 21-year-old has netted five goals and provided six assists in 36 appearances for his nation.

England ended up as runners-up once again after their loss against Italy on penalties in the Euro 2020 final. They have also finished third in 1968 and 1996.

After the Three Lions' loss in the Euro 2024 final, Jude Bellingham made a long emotional post on Instagram. In the post, the 21-year-old midfielder addressed Gareth Southgate, who recently resigned from the post of head coach, and wrote:

"Finally, I’d like to thank Gareth and his staff for the great memories during his tenure. From the point of view of a fan who has become a member of the squad, it’s been a rollercoaster of amazing emotions that has instilled hope and joy back into our country.
"It was a privilege being lead by someone who is so dedicated and passionate, not only is Gareth easily one of the best coaches in the history of the national team but also an unbelievable human being. Thank you for everything and all the best in the next chapter, Gaffer."
