"Just a bunch of know-it-alls" - Chelsea star Joao Felix reacts to post on Instagram claiming only one PL club would pay €100m for him

Chelsea star Joao Felix reacted to an Instagram post claiming that Newcastle United are the only Premier League club willing to spend €100 million for him.

Felix is currently on loan in London from La Liga club Atletico Madrid. The Blues need to shell out €100 million to secure his signature in the summer. The Portuguese joined the west London-based club in January and has since made 18 appearances for the Blues, scoring three goals.

However, there are reports that Chelsea might not look to spend €100 million to make his transfer a reality. Newcastle United, on the other hand, are reportedly interested in the player.

Felix has now reacted to an Instagram post as he wrote in response (h/t Fabrizio Romano):

Felix and the Blues will return to action on Sunday (May 21) to take on Manchester City in a Premier League away clash.

Why did Joao Felix leave Atletico Madrid for Chelsea?

Joao Felix joined Atletico Madrid as one of the highly touted prospects in world football. The former Benfica star, though, failed to hit his best standards for Los Rojiblancos.

When he joined Chelsea, many tipped the Portuguese to flourish in the Premier League. After his move, Felix explained the reason behind his decision to leave Atletico, telling AS:

"I had been looking for a change of scenery for some time because it was difficult for me to get used to the way of playing."

Felix added:

"I left because my head was full of the fact I was trying and not being able to. It had to be in this transfer window and I think it has been good for Atletico and for me too."

While Felix signed a long-term contract before leaving Atletico, running until 2027, it's highly unlikely that he would remain at the Spanish club next season. The Blues remain his most likely future destination.
