Kevin De Bruyne provides update on Manchester City future amid reports of Saudi Arabia transfer
Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne provided an update on his future at the Etihad amid reports of a move to Saudi Arabia. The Belgium international claimed that he was set for a quiet summer and planned to return to Manchester City after his holidays.
De Bruyne added that he would enter talks with the Cityzens in the next few months regarding his future. The 33-year-old is contracted to the Sky Blues until the summer of 2025 but has been widely linked with a switch to Saudi Pro League.
The Belgian superstar is currently on international duty, representing his country in Euro 2024. De Bruyne and Co. will be up against France on Monday, July 1, in the Round of 16. Ahead of the game, De Bruyne addressed his future stating, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano:
"I’ll have a quiet summer. I’ll enjoy my holidays and will return to City afterwards. I assume there will be talks with City in the upcoming months."
De Bruyne previously made headlines with his comments regarding a move to Saudi Arabia. The Manchester City superstar admitted that he would find it hard to turn down an offer from Saudi Pro League given the amount of money involved.
The creative midfielder has now backtracked from his previous statement which will be music to the Manchester City fans' ears. De Bruyne remains a key player in Pep Guardiola's system despite his age and persistent injury problems.
The former Chelsea attacking midfielder played only 1756 minutes of football last season, scoring six goals and providing 18 assists. Since his £55 million switch from Wolfsburg, De Bruyne has made 382 appearances for the Cityzens, scoring 102 goals and creating another 170. He has won 15 trophies during his time at the Etihad, including six Premier League titles.

Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze who has also been linked with a switch to Arsenal and Liverpool (via The Guardian). The 26-year-old has emerged as a coveted player following his exploits with Crystal Palace last season.
Eze has grown from strength to strength since joining Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in 2020 in a deal worth £15 million. He enjoyed a solid season with the Eagles last term, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 31 appearances across competitions.
Valued at £60 million as per reports, the creative playmaker is wanted by a host of clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. However, Manchester City have now also entered the race as Pep Guardiola looks to add more spark to his title-winning side.
