Kevin De Bruyne speaks about Belgium retirement after starring in Euro 2024 win against Romania
Kevin De Bruyne hasn't thought about retiring from Belgium's national team just yet, as he revealed following the Euro 2024 win against Romania. The Red Devils managed a 2-0 win on Saturday (June 22). Youri Tielemans scored in the second minute before Manchester City's De Bruyne made it 2-0 in the 80th minute.
The Belgium captain, one of the best midfielders in the world, opened up on his international future after the game. He told the media (via Mirror):
"I haven't really thought about whether this is the end of my international career. I don't like thinking about when I'm retiring or my future. I have not decided when I'm going to finish."
De Bruyne added:
"I've been playing in this team for 10 years and I have a lot of knowledge to pass on to the youger players but honestly, I've not decided when I'm going to finish."
Belgium, meanwhile, started their Euro 2024 campaign with a shock 1-0 defeat to Slovakia on June 17. They mounted an impressive comeback through a 2-0 win against Romania.
The Red Devils are currently second in Group E with three points from two games. They play Ukraine in their final group game on Wednesday (June 26).

Belgium boss Domenico Todesco made a Kevin De Bruyne claim following their Euro 2024 win against Romania. He claimed that the superstar midfielder is happier than ever.
Todesco told the media about the Manchester City ace (via Mirror):
"I speak to many people that know him so well and they've never seen him so happy and so positive. It's important that we get him on the pitch in this kind of mood. We have an extreme amount of potential and the last game against Ukraine will be difficult."
Kevin De Bruyne has so far made 103 appearances for Belgium's national team, scoring 28 goals and providing 49 assists. The 32-year-old still looks like one of his national team's most influential players.
