Kylian Mbappe finally responds as Belgium star pledges to 'kick him in the shin' ahead of France's crunch Euro 2024 showdown

France superstar Kylian Mbappe provided a classy response when asked if he would exchange kits with Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana. This comes after the Everton man was spotted singing a song where he claimed he would tackle the Frenchman in the shin.

In a recent conversation, Mbappe said (via Madrid Xtra on X):

“Will Amadou Onana still be able to exchange kits with you?”
Mbappe: “WHO?”
“Amadou Onana, our midfielder.”
Mbappe: “Ah, I’ve heard about it. You know, a lot of people talk about me - I have no problems with that. If he wants my kit, he can have it.”

The incident occurred earlier this week in a video uploaded by the Belgian FA on their social media channels. Comedian Pablo Andres was seen asking who would tackle the 25-year-old, with Onana replying:

"Onana, Amadou Onana!"

After facing backlash, the video was swiftly removed and the Belgian FA went on to issue an apology, with press officer Stefan Van Loock saying:

"It was not the intention to attack anyone. We have been working with comedian Pablo Andres for a long time, this video also had to be funny."
"But we misjudged that and also took the video offline. We would like to apologize to anyone we may have offended with this. For us, this is the end of the matter."

The matter has certainly spiced things up as France prepare to face Belgium in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 (July 1). Mbappe will be hoping to find his goalscoring touch after scoring just once in the group stages as he looks to lift a Les Bleus side that have not looked at their best.

Belgium, meanwhile, will look to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Jeremy Doku for inspiration after also performing below par in the group stages.

France attacker Kylian Mbappe has admitted that his nose could be targetted in a physical battle against Belgium in the Round of 16. The Real Madrid superstar said in a press conference ahead of the clash (via ESPN):

"I think that if you're playing with a broken nose and you haven't had your nose operated yet, you're a target."

The 25-year-old suffered a broken nose in Les Bleus' first game of Euro 2024 after colliding with Austria defender Kevin Danso's shoulder. He went on to miss their second clash against the Netherlands before returning for the final group-stage fixture against Poland.

Manager Didier Deschamps will be hoping his star man can provide the attacking impetus for a side that has scored only two goals in their first three games.
