Kylian Mbappe purchases ex-Real Madrid forward’s villa ahead of imminent transfer to join Los Blancos: Reports
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has seemingly all but confirmed his move to Real Madrid. According to French outlet Le Parisien, the attacker has purchased former Los Blancos star Gareth Bale's villa in La Finca in Madrid.
Speculation over the 25-year-old's next club has grown in recent days after he confirmed that he will leave the Ligue 1 giants this summer. His contract is set to expire, meaning he will join his new team on a free transfer.
Real Madrid are heavily expected to be that new team. Carlo Ancelotti's side were close to signing Mbappe back in the summer of 2022 but he changed his mind at the last moment, instead opting to stay with PSG.
The 25-year-old leaves Les Parisiens as a club legend, having won 15 trophies in his tenure after joining them for €180 million from AS Monaco in 2018. He has made 308 appearances for the club, scoring 256 goals and setting up 108 more.
Mbappe will hope to emulate the performances of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu. Joining the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham with the Spanish giants, Los Blancos will look to dominate La Liga and Europe in the near future.
Ancelotti opens up on nerves as Real Madrid prepare for Champions League final
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke about his emotions ahead of the side's Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 1. He said (via Managing Madrid):
“It’s always the same, the qualifiers are the same. There is happiness for being a protagonist in the most important game of the season for everyone, it’s my ninth final if you count the ones as a player and it’s the same happiness. Then will come the worry and the fear, as always, but before it comes I want to enjoy it.”
“It gets to me until Saturday afternoon, that cold sweat, it’s normal, but then during the match I have the experience. My team gives me a lot of confidence, they are in Champions League mode.”
The Spanish giants will be looking to secure their record-extending 15th Champions League trophy when they face Borussia Dortmund. The German side, on the other hand, will look to recapture the magic from 1997, the last and only time they won the tournament.
It will be Ancelotti's record sixth Champions League final appearance as a manager. He made three finals with AC Milan in the 2000s, winning twice and has now made it three times with Real Madrid.
