Kylian Mbappe shirt sales estimated to be five times more than Bellingham as report predicts Real Madrid’s expected number of jerseys to be sold

Real Madrid newcomer Kylian Mbappe's shirt sales are projected to surpass the figures Jude Bellingham's shirt sales just under a year ago by a huge margin. This is as per MARCA's Jose Felix Diaz via Transfer News Live, who has reported that Los Blancos and Adidas released the information confirming the Frenchman's projected numbers.

Real Madrid and president Florentino Perez finally got their hands on their prized asset after multiple seasons chasing him while he was at Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian Mbappe was announced to the Santiago Bernabeu faithful on July 16 in a grand presentation ceremony that was reminiscent of when Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club in 2009.

Such was the buzz that Mbappe's revelation ceremony attracted a packed stadium, and nearly all of his merchandise was sold out at Real Madrid club stores. There were unprecedented delays when it came to Mbappe shirts with demand like Los Blancos have seldom experienced before.

Diaz's report further states that Real, who are heavily reliant on shirt sales for their financial gains, could sell up to four million shirts per season. Given the buzz around Kylian Mbappe's arrival, they are expected to comfortably achieve this number and could even exceed it.

Fans will have to wait beyond pre-season for Kylian Mbappe's Real Madrid debut

While his arrival has created an unbelievable yearning around the Spanish capital, Real Madrid fans will have to wait longer than expected to see their newest hero don the coveted white kit.

As per reports from The Athletic, Kylian Mbappe will skip Real's pre-season tour to the USA as the club believe it would be detrimental to his fitness ahead of the next season.

Earlier, while Mbappe was with France at Euro 2024, it was also reported by MARCA that precautions would be taken should Les Bleus make it to at least the semi-finals of the tournament, which they did.

The star striker was last in action as France bowed out in the Euro semifinals after a 1-2 defeat to Spain on July 9.

Real Madrid's first pre-season game against AC Milan is scheduled for August 1, which would give Mbappe under three weeks to recuperate and prepare.

However, the club has stepped in to protect their prized asset, with similar considerations likely to be given to other French, Spanish, and English players in the squad. This means Mbappe's first Madrid appearance could come in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta on August 14.
