"Later it'd be tough negotiations" - Euro 2024 hero issues come and get me plea to clubs amid Manchester United and Barcelona interest

Dani Olmo has fueled talk of a move to Barcelona or Manchester United by alerting clubs to his release clause at RB Leipzig. The Spanish attacker has been one of the standout performers at Euro 2024.

Olmo, 26, confirmed when his release clause is set to expire and highlighted his desire to win silverware. He told Spanish outlet El Larguero:

"Clause until July 20? Yes, if clubs want me, they know what they can do. There’s time until July 20 for the clause otherwise later it’d be tough negotiations! I’m under contract at Leipzig and I want to win titles."

The versatile attacking midfielder has caught everyone's attention at Euro 2024 by playing an instrumental role in Spain's journey to the final. He's bagged three goals and two assists in five games and is a candidate for the Player of the Tournament award.

GiveMeSport's senior football correspondent, Ben Jacobs, reports that Barcelona are interested in bringing Olmo back to Camp Nou. He started his career in the Blaugrana's academy but failed to reach the senior level before departing in July 2014.

Barca spoke to Leipzig before Euro 2024 about Olmo but would require a generous payment structure to proceed. The Catalans are prioritizing his Spanish teammate Nico Williams.

Manchester United are ones to watch in the race to sign Olmo before his release clause expires. They appear to be the only Premier League giants courting the Terrassa-born attacker, as Chelsea and Manchester City have ruled themselves out.

ESPN journalist Rodrigo Faez: Barcelona and Manchester United target Dani Olmo 'likes English lifestyle'

Dani Olmo could be a hit in the Premier League.

Olmo was linked with a move to Manchester United before Euro 2024 amid an impressive spell with Leipzig. He registered eight goals and five assists in 25 games across competitions last season.

ESPN journalist Rodrigo Faez spoke about Olmo's future back in April. He suggested that the 38-cap Spain international was a fan of the city of Manchester and felt that he was a better fit for the Premier League than La Liga. He told mufcMPB:

"He likes Manchester, he likes the city and the English lifestyle. It will depend on Barcelona and other linked clubs, but I think he is more fit for the Premier League game style than La Liga."

Olmo has yet to play in the Premier League, but his pacey playing style and versatility could suit the English top flight. Manchester United is in the middle of a transfer rebuild under the new owners, INEOS.

A creative midfielder could be on their agenda to help the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford. They are in a better financial state to complete a deal for Olmo than Barcelona although Bayern Munich are also known admirers, per Jacobs.
