Lille star appears to mock Antonio Rudiger for having bad breath during hilarious moments during Real Madrid loss in Champions League
LOSC Lille defender Bafode Diakite appeared to mock Antonio Rudiger for bad breath during the Ligue 1 side's 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, October 2.
Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid faced Lille in Round 2 of the 2024-25 Champions League at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Los Blancos suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to the French side. Canadian forward Jonathan David scored the game's only goal from the penalty spot (45+2').
During the match, Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger and Lille's Bafode Diakite got into an altercation. In the argument, Diakite appeared to perform a gesture, where he kept his hand on his nose. It seemed the French defender was mocking Rudiger for bad breath.
With the loss, Los Blancos have slipped to the 17th spot in the UEFA Champions League standings while Lille are 18th.
Real Madrid enter the race to sign Aston Villa's £50m-rated transfer target: Reports
Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid are reportedly looking to sign Villarreal's Alex Beana as a replacement for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric. Aged 39, Modric is possibly playing his last season at Santiago Bernabeu. As a result, Los Blancos are keen on signing a replacement for the Croatian veteran.
Modric's contract with Madrid will expire next summer and he has started four of Los Blancos' eight games in La Liga this season. Toni Kroos already announced his retirement from professional football earlier this year.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid have Villarreal's Alex Beana on their transfer radar. However, they are expected to get competition from Premier League sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa, as per CaughtOffside. His release clause is reported to be around £50 million.
Aston Villa were the frontrunners in the race because Unai Emery had managed Alex Beana during his time at Villarreal. But with Real Madrid's arrival, the La Liga giants have got in the pole position. The 23-year-old Spanish midfielder is Villarreal's academy product. Making 122 appearances for the senior team, Beana has bagged 20 goals and 35 assists across competitions.
