Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? Casper Ruud picks favorite between the 2 superstars

Tennis star Casper Ruud recently named his pick in the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The World No.7 chose the Portuguese over the Argentine in a winners' stay challenge.

In a video by 433 on Instagram, Ruud was asked to pick between some of the best superstars in a Winner Stays Greatest Athlete of All Time edition. He picked fellow tennis star Carlos Alcaraz over Jude Bellingham, Roger Federer over Alcaraz, and Federer over basketball legend Michale Jordan.

However, when Federer was pitted against Messi, Ruud opted for the Inter Miami star. He also picked Messi over boxing icon Muhammed Ali. But when the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was pitted against Ronaldo, the Norwegian tennis player went for the Al-Nassr ace.

The debate over who is the better player between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo varies among different individuals. However, both superstars are regarded as among the best to have ever played the game of football.

Messi has won eight Ballons d’Or while Ronaldo picked up the accolade on five occasions. The Portuguese ace is also the leading goalscorer in men’s football with 908 goals. Messi is behind him with 805 goals for club and country.

The pair are nearing the end of their careers but continue to make significant impacts for both their club and country. Messi (37) plays for Inter Miami in the MLS while Ronaldo (39) is in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr.
