On August 14, Kylian Mbappe made his Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta.

Speaking to CBS Sports after scoring his first goal for Real Madrid in the game and also picking up his first trophy with the club, Mbappe described it as a 'magical night'.

"It's a magical night. Always dreaming about this time of night, and now it is a reality. To play for this club, the best club in the world, is something crazy," he said.
"I'm really happy to make my debut today. Of course we won a trophy. It's really important to win a trophy, because everyone has won here. It's a big pleasure for me, also to score a goal. As a striker, to be there and score for my team is always a pleasure and I hope to stay like this in the season to help the team more." he added.

After a goalless first half, Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 59th minute before Mbappe got on the scoresheet 10 minutes later.

The Frenchman narrowly missed receiving the ball in the box from Vinicius Jr from his right side. However, Jude Bellingham took control of the ball from the left side, and passed it back to Mbappe, who made no mistake.

The French attacker found the net with a smooth finish on his debut, making it 2-0 and winning his first trophy with Los Blancos.
