"Makes Erik ten Hag look even dumber" - Piers Morgan lauds Cristiano Ronaldo, calls out Manchester United boss after Al-Nassr's 4-3 win
British broadcaster Piers Morgan has called out Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after Cristiano Ronaldo sizzled in Al-Nassr's Saudi Pro League win on Tuesday (October 24).
Ronaldo, 38, was among the goals in Al-Alami's thrilling 4-3 league win at home over Al-Duhai. After Talisca and Sadio Mane had scored either side of the break, Ronaldo made it 3-0 on the night.
Al-Duhail fought back with two goals from Ismael Mohamad and Almoez Ali, but Ronaldo restored the hosts' two-goal lead nine minutes from time. Although, the viisitors pulled another one back through Michael Olunga in the 85th minute, Al-Nassr held on for their sevenh league win in 10 games this season.
It was a superb brace from Ronaldo in the second period, with both strikes coming off his weaker left foot. The first was low to the left of the Al-Duhail 'keeper, while the second was sumptuous - a brilliant curler into the custodian's top right corner.
Considering United's general struggle for goals this season, Morgan took a dig at Ten Hag for orchestrating 'GOAT' Ronaldo's Old Trafford exit a year ago, tweeting:
"Two more brilliant goals last night from the GOAT Cristiano - with his weaker foot! Every day he keeps scoring like this makes Erik ten Hag look even dumber for driving him out of United."
Thanks to their win, Al-Nassr are back to third in the standings, four behind leaders Al-Hilal.
