Manchester City star arrested by police in Madrid over bizzare theft case: Reports

According to a report by MARCA, Manchester City star Matheus Nunes has been arrested in Spain over a bizarre theft case. The Portugal international is allegedly accused of taking a man's mobile phone by force in a Madrid nightclub.

According to Luis F. Duran, who was quoted by MARCA, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder was detained by the police after a night out at the La Riviera Nightclub. He gave a statement and was released a few hours later after allegedly "robbing" the phone from someone taking a photo of him in the bathroom.

Nunes joined Manchester City last season but has seen game time difficult to come by with the reigning English champions. He has played only 1587 minutes spread across 35 games for Pep Guardiola's side following his reported €62 million move from the midland.

The midfielder will now await the decision of the courts to see what or if any punishment is meted out to him.
