Manchester United asked to pay £30m for 17-year-old English wonderkid linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid: Reports
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are among the clubs to have learned of Sunderland's asking price for teenage star Chris Rigg, as per reports. The Black Cats are prepared to receive offers for the 17-year-old midfielder, who is attracting interest from top sides across Europe.
From making his senior Sunderland debut at the age of just 15, Rigg has continued to develop into a fine central midfielder at the Stadium of Light. The teenager has featured in all 12 of the Black Cats' games in the Championship this season, helping them open up a five-point gap at the summit of the standings.
Manchester United and Chelsea are the two Premier League sides to have sent scouts out to watch Rigg in action for Sunderland this term, with both sides keen to sign the youngster. European champions Real Madrid are also interested in the teenage sensation, who has scored three goals for his side this season.
Football Insider now reports that Sunderland will only accept offers in the region of £30 million for the midfielder, who has played a pivotal role for their side this season. They hope to keep him beyond this season but will be prepared to sanction an exit for him if his valuation is met by any of his suitors.
Rigg has impressed with his quality and maturity, having captained England at U-16 and U-17 levels, and has been likened to Roy Keane. Manchester United want the youngster to join the list of A-list talent they have brought into their club in recent months, and may be willing to part ways with his club's asking price.
Chelsea have been known to target some of the finest young players in world football, hence it comes as no surprise that they are interested in Rigg. For Real Madrid, the loss of Toni Kroos and impending exit of Luka Modric means they need an injection of young talent into their midfield, and Rigg fits the bill for them.
Chelsea, Manchester United monitoring Real Madrid superstar - Reports
Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United are among a number of clubs monitoring the situation of Real Madrid ace Vinicius Jr, as per Relevo. The star Brazilian forward is contracted to Los Blancos until 2027, having only signed a new contract last year.
Vinicius Jr is in no rush to commence talks with his club over a new deal despite the club wanting to do so. This development has left a number of sides feeling like they can lure the 24-year-old with a mega contract offer.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain as well as Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr have also been linked with the forward, who missed out on the Ballon d'Or award this year. Vinicius Jr will be keen to sign a contract with improved remuneration and if Real Madrid do not guarantee this, he may look to move elsewhere.
