Manchester United to battle Borussia Dortmund to sign highly rated youngster - Reports

Manchester United are set to compete with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of Danish youngster Adam Daghim, who is on the books of RB Salzburg. The Red Devils are looking to pick up some of the best young players to strengthen their squad for the present and future.

The Red Bull pathway appears to be one of the most promising for scouting young players in Europe, having already produced quite a few over the years. The likes of Erling Haaland, Benjamin Sesko, Karim Adeyemi and several others have come through the Salzburg ranks to play for Europe's biggest sides.

Manchester United are eager to take advantage of this opportunity with their pursuit of talented winger Adam Daghim, as per tipsbladet. The Red Devils have their work cut out to convince the teenager to sign with them, seeing as he already caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Daghim is widely regarded as a star in the making, earning the praise of Salzburg manager Pep Lijnders, who handed him his UEFA Champions League debut. The 18-year-old became the youngest player to debut for AGF in the Danish top flight when he did so aged 16 in 2022, before signing a professional contract. He moved to Salzburg in August 2023, spending time on loan at FC Liefering in Austria.

He emerged as one of the leading Danish talents in Europe, having already appeared 11 times for his club this season, with two goals to his name. The versatile attacker can play across the front three and is known for his quick feet, mobility, and quality on the ball.

Manchester United already sealed deals for teenage duo Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone this summer and could look to sign Daghim in the next window. With Oscar Gloukh also on its radar, Erik ten Hag's side may look to sign multiple Salzburg players.

Manchester United linked with move for Championship star - Reports

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg, as per The People's Person. The teenager is making waves in England's second division, scoring the winner in his side's win over Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough this week.

Still only 17, United scouts have likened Rigg to club legend Roy Keane, having seen his development at the Stadium of Light over the years. Rigg made his professional debut for the Black Cats aged just 15 and has become a regular in the side.

The attacking midfielder is England's U-17 national team captain and only signed his first professional contract with the club in July. He has been on the radar of the Red Devils since he made his professional bow, and several other sides in the Premier League are also watching him closely.
