Manchester United keeping tabs of 19-year-old La Liga breakout talent: Reports

Manchester United are monitoring Athletic Club midfielder Peio Canales with a view to sign him in upcoming transfer windows, according to reports. The 19-year-old is highly rated in the club's set-up and is seen as the next big thing.

Over the years, Athletic Club have developed a pathway for players to come through the youth system and make their way to the senior side. Spanish winger Nico Williams, who attracted the attention of several European giants this summer, came through the La Liga side's ranks as well.

Manchester United are keeping tabs on some young players before serious competition comes in for their signature. They already did it once this summer with Malian midfield prodigy Sekou Kone, who has moved to Old Trafford.

According to Sam C of The United Stand (via CaughtOffside), the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on Canales and will continue to do so in the coming months. The attacking midfielder primarily turns out for Athletic Club's B-team in the Primera Federacion, and has made three appearances this season.

The Spain U-19 international is seen within the Basque club as the heir to former captain and club legend Iker Muniain. Canales is contracted to the club until 2027 but could be available for cheap due to his deal being a youth contract. He may look at the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho as examples of a potential pathway to the first team at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag's side are not the only side interested in the teenager, with several other sides looking to sign him, as per the report.

Manchester United star linked with loan move to Turkish giants - Reports

Manchester United forward Antony has been linked with a loan move to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce amid his struggles at the club. The Brazilian forward is reportedly eager to move away from Old Trafford this summer, with the Turkish Super Lig his last realistic option.

Antony has played just one minute for Erik ten Hag's side so far this season, finding himself behind Marcus Rashford, Garnacho, and Amad Diallo in the pecking order. The former Ajax man has failed to justify his lofty price tag at the club and is set for a spell elsewhere.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce appointed Jose Mourinho as their manager earlier this summer, and the Brazilian is open to joining them, as per The Sun. A move away from Manchester United could provide Antony with a fresh start.
